Hmm. Having gotten back into OpenXDK development, and suddenly deciding I wanted to screenshot my housemate’s XBox, I noticed the open-source XIG2. I installed a debug BIOS (Yoshihiro 2005) into the Xecutor 2′s second bank,and then realised I couldn’t be assed going upstairs to my windows box.

So with the help of dds2.dpr, the MSDN entry on the DDS file format, and the (underdocumented) libDevIL, I produced the following. I’ve got some nice screenshots of my avalaunch screen to show for it.

As you can see, the Japanese characters are quite clear. They’re much harder to read on a TV, which is what got me started on this whole screenshot thing in the first place.
